Roy Acuff and I had a conversation backstage at the Ryman in 1969. I had been trying
to sell many people on my first "Music City USA" concept, long before Opryland USA mysteriously came into existence. Years later,
after Opryland ceased operation, I began promoting my concepts again. I really believed at the time, it would be good for Tennessee and good for America
to reach out internationally in an effort to create this unique project. Community
leaders who were contacted were not interested in discussing the ideas. Only
one politician was polite enough to get in touch by letter. Someone else started
a state investigation for the purpose of obtaining all of my personal documents
related to my MCUSA endeavors. |
James Reesor alias Tennessee Elijah has a state trademark on the world renowned phrase “MUSIC CITY USA” (1969-2010). I also have the newer abbreviated version “MCUSA” (2008). MCUSA Entertainment & Broadcast Center MCUSA Circle of Lights Politics being less than ideal, instead of the Governor (1998) and Nashville Mayor responding to a hand-delivered prospectus by agreeing to a meeting as I requested, someone notified the Department of Commerce and Insurance Securities Division instead. They served me with a subpoena. (I guess they wanted information about my proposed project the easy way). My 509-page presentation given to the officials was filled with confidential, innovative business ideas. My information was provided and then apparently scrutinized by them for their own private reasons before being filed away by the state for future reference. I never heard from the investigators or any other person about this matter up to this day. Among the pages they examined was this statement: “Looking at my MCUSA project from a Spiritual perspective, the State of Tennessee has become an adversary rather than a supporter of my endeavors. God is not happy with those who seek to obstruct me!” My primary objective was to establish a socioeconomic and political entity for the purpose of bringing a transformation of hearts and minds on an international level -- thus making possible a transition to peace and prosperity. Needless to say, this proposed multi-billion-dollar project came to a screeching halt because of rejection by those who are in authority. Since that time a few years ago, Tennessee has gone into economic decline -- just as I predicted. Had they taken time to read my messages, they might have discovered what happens when Elijah encounters friends and enemies, thanks to the power of God over my life: "As I go, So goes the world" "Blessed are they who bless Elijah; cursed are they who curse Elijah" -- believe it or not! My dozens of interactive concepts included international communications, MicroNation villages for educational purposes and the largest tourist attraction in the world. The recommended banner to have been promoted was -- “Historic Lifestyle Preservation & Cultural Heritage Education.” This very unique and idealistic theme never got further than words on paper. Participation by political, business and religious leaders was not an option that nations were given, because the conventional thinkers of this state where I reside did not heed the call from an unconventional prophet. As I learned from this experience, Moses could lead God’s children out of Egypt on the way to the Promise Land, but I couldn’t lead one Governor out of his self-centered comfort zone. The authentic “MUSIC CITY USA” state trademark that I own will now be assigned to the highest bidding Country Music fan who might like to own a controversial souvenir. This once-in-a-lifetime experience, based on documented facts, would be a newsworthy expose, but a book would only make a few Tennesseans famous instead of teach them how to respect new ideas from visionaries. As we know, Christians are supposed to Love enemies -- not write books about them! Meanwhile, for the sake of sharing my MCUSA experiences, take a look at the following pages to see if any of my ideas might have made life a little better on this planet had I succeeded! |
NOTE: This is a nice letter! I accepted the explanation as reasonable under the circumstances.
The mayor is now Governor Phil Bredesen. |

NOTE: Governor Bredesen is shown with children as he emphasizes reading and imagination! |
I often wonder what impact MCUSA would have had on Tennessee and the world community
had I been able to get friendly cooperation? |
